I have my first center to work on for our Round Robin. There are five of us, so I'll have three more to go after this. Unless I want to add a round on my own when I get it back in April.
This is a gorgeous 16" paper-pieced iris block and I think it is absolutely evil that I have to follow this. It could be quilted and binded and hanging on the wall just as it is - and be a total stunner. I've stared at it for the past couple days and I think I have a plan. I'll give you a clue: four shades of purple. That's all you get till I'm done.
I also binded my two little Schnibbles. Picnic is the bright Easter-looking basket quilt, and the other is Cindy Lou Who. I wasn't quite sure how I felt about Cindy Lou when I made her. I used an April Cornell line of fabric called Christmas Presence, and was undecided about the black. It threw me off. But I liked it a little more once it was quilted, and I like it even more so now that it's binded. I look forward to finding a place to hang it next Christmas. And I'd like to point out that both of these quiltlets, backing included, were used from fabric in my stash. Woo hoo! Score!
I really like the black in Cindy Lou. I know what you mean about black. I've stayed away from it when I've seen it in some fabric lines. It's so bold. It definitely works in that quilt!! Picnic is darling! Round Robin is really gorgeous!! You are right...a total stunner!

You've got quite a challenge ahead of your with that iris center. But, you've come up with some lovely things in the past so I can hardly wait to see your inspiration you have for this. The little basket quilt is so fresh and springlike.

Good work! Great finishes on the Schnibbles. And good luck with your Round Robin assignment. I know you will come up with a fabulous idea for surrounding those irises.

Whew! What an act to follow. Can you provide any info on the iris paper pieced block and how to get the pattern. Thanks.
