Dyea. Seriously, I never get tired of this view.
On a Sunday afternoon drive, we followed a sandy little road-less-traveled, and came up on the backside of Carcross, where the Watson River flows into Lake Bennett. It was super windy, so we were squinty-eyed as we trekked across the sand dunes. But it sure felt great to dig our toes in the warm sand!
Then we ran into some critters on the drive home. This one was really interested in what we had in the back seat. He moseyed on up to take a peek.
Emerald Lake as the sun sets....see, the sun DOES set in Alaska. Just not until the end of July.
such a stunning place. i do hope we get back there one day

It looks so beautiful! I would love to get there to visit some day. I'm glad to see that you're having some fun time away from your busy job.

Thanks for posting such great pictures...makes me very jealous, especially since it's very hot and burnt looking in my part of the world right now...glad you had a chance to take a breather.
